Blair Packham Independent Music Production, Independent Songwriting and Performance
Blair is a professor in both the Independent Music Production and the Independent Songwriting and Performance programs. Blair teaches songwriting, lyric writing, and various aspects of artist development, having been a performing songwriter himself for almost 40 years. In the 1980s, Blair worked as an audio engineer at Toronto’s legendary studio Comfort Sound, engineering or assisting on recordings of Bryan Adams, Stevie Ray Vaughan, R.E.M. and many others. It was during this time that Blair launched his own band, The Jitters, who went on to tour Canada and the UK extensively, while scoring hit singles on the Canadian charts. Post-Jitters, in the 1990s, Blair focused on producing other artists and composing music for film and television. He has written music for clients such as Nelvana, TSN, Global, CBC, CTV, Discovery Channel, Much Music, and Teletoon. He holds a BA in English Literature from the University of Toronto.
