Part-time Studies OneCard Contest Rules

Contest Period

The Seneca Polytechnic Part-time Studies OneCard Contest (the “Contest”) at Open House is held by Seneca and runs from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

To Enter

Entering the Contest is free. To participate, register for Open House and indicate your interest in “Part-time Studies” on the form to be entered into the draw for a chance to win. The entrant also must register for a  Summer 2024 part-time studies course (through Seneca’s Faculty of Continuing Education and Training) during the Contest period to qualify.

A limit of one (1) entry per person will be accepted. All entries must be submitted no later than the Contest closing date.

By entering, the entrant agrees to abide by these rules and all decisions of Seneca, which are final in all matters relating to this Contest.

Seneca will not be responsible for lost, late, delayed, incomplete, or misdirected entries. Seneca is not responsible for any change of email address, mailing address and/or telephone number of entrants. Entries will become the sole property of Seneca. By entering, entrants provide consent to receive future emails and electronic messages from Seneca for informational and promotional purposes.

Eligibility

To qualify to be part of this Contest, the entrant must be a domestic student who, at the time of entry, will be at least 18 years of age. The entrant must be a Canadian resident in their province or territory of residence, excluding Quebec. The entrant must register for a  Summer 2024 part-time studies course (through Seneca’s Faculty of Continuing Education and Training) during the Contest period to qualify.

By entering, entrants agree to abide by these rules and all decisions of Seneca, which are final in all matters relating to this Contest. Persons who are ineligible to win the Contest include employees of Seneca and immediate family members (defined as parents, children, siblings or spouse), regardless of where they reside.

The Draw

The Seneca Part-time Studies OneCard Contest winner will be selected in a random drawing in May 2024, from among all eligible entries received by Seneca. The first entry drawn, for which the entrant satisfies the eligibility criteria, will be eligible to win the prize. The selected entrant will be contacted by email or telephone using the information provided on the Open House registration form. The selected entrant will be deemed a winner if they meet all the eligibility criteria set out in these Contest Rules. Seneca reserves the right to verify that the winner satisfies all Contest eligibility criteria.

Prize

  • A $500.00 CAD credit applied to the winner’s Seneca OneCard.
  • Approximate Retail Value (ARV) = $500.00 CAD.
  • Odds of winning will depend on the total number of eligible entries received. Unclaimed prize will not be awarded. Prize is non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded, without substitution.

Please note the following conditions:

  • Entrant must have registered for a Summer 2024 part-time studies course (through Seneca’s Faculty of Continuing Education and Training) during the Contest period to qualify.
  • The $500 credit will be applied to the winner’s Seneca OneCard account within two weeks after the winner has been officially confirmed. To receive the $500 credit, the winner will need to download the Seneca OneCard app. The OneCard app is available on Apple or Android smartphones.   • All Seneca policies and procedures apply.
  • No cash/cash back value.
  • Seneca will not be responsible for any supplementary registration fees.
  • The prize will only be awarded upon winner validation and verification. The prize can be claimed upon winner being notified of winning the prize. Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must also sign a declaration confirming understanding, compliance with and acceptance of the Contest rules.
  • The selected entrant will be required to answer a time-limited, unaided, mathematical-based skill-testing question successfully prior to the prize being awarded.
  • If a selected entrant is unable or unwilling to comply with the Contest rules, the entry will be disqualified, and another entry will be randomly drawn from the remaining eligible entries.
  • No response from e-mail, phone, or message notification after three attempts, or return of e-mail notification as undeliverable after three attempts, or prize that is unclaimed after four weeks will be determined as an unclaimed prize and will result in forfeit of the prize. Seneca will then select an alternate winner.
  • All federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations apply. Awarding of the prize is subject to verification of winner. Return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable or determination by Seneca that the selected entrant is ineligible will result in disqualification. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for Seneca to use the winner's name and area of residence and/or likeness for the purposes of advertising without further compensation unless prohibited by law. By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to hold harmless Seneca and its respective affiliates, governors, employees, advertising and promotion agencies and assigns against any and all claims and liability (including, but not limited to, liability for any property loss, damage, personal injury or death) arising out of use of the prize. By participating in this Contest, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of Seneca.

Internet

If for any reason the Contest is not capable of running as planned, including tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the control of Seneca which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, Seneca reserves the right at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest. Seneca reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest (including, but not limited to, any non-human mechanism, entity) to be acting in violation of the Official Rules, or to be acting in an unfair or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Any person attempting to defraud or in any way tamper with the Contest will be ineligible to win.
