Chris Tyler is a computer programmer, system administrator, author and consultant. He is an avid user, developer and contributor to open source, particularly Linux operating systems. He is the founder of Teachingopensource.org and specializes in open source and emerging technologies at Seneca’s Centre for Development of Open Technology (CDOT), a physical and virtual environment to develop and research open source software with the open source community, businesses and other institutions. At Seneca, Chris Tyler also co-ordinates student research projects, currently investigating methods to lower energy consumption for computing systems using open source technology.
Chris Tyler has been featured on CBC Radio and has provided expert commentary for websites such as Scottnnesbitt.net and Talkincloud.com.
