Seneca students win big at 2019 Ad Summit competition
Creative Advertising students place first and win $5,000 scholarship
On Saturday, March 2, Creative Advertising students Laura Guerrero, Lissette Santana and Selina Testani participated and presented a campaign pitch at the 2019 Ad Summit competition at the University of Toronto in Mississauga.
The competition brought together students from various colleges and universities across North America. During the competition participants were asked to put together a case study advertising brief. They also participated in a series of creative workshops from the Miami Ad School.
Under the agency name “3amigas” Guerrero, Santana and Testani turned the case study into their passion project for the next four months. The challenge of the competition was to engage millennials in Canada to watch Narcos Mexico, an original Netflix show. The team developed a creative strategy to organically generate more buzz and engagement for the show. With hard work, creativity and strategic foundation, they took the first-place title winning a $5,000 scholarship for the Miami Ad School and $500 cash.
“This was such a rewarding and creatively fulfilling experience. It not only allowed us to work on a very exciting brief, but it also enabled us to challenge ourselves to develop a strong creative solution” said the 3amigas.
