Support Seneca

The Meeting Place

We’re #SenecaProud to have welcomed representatives from TD to Newnham Campus for a ceremony to name the third floor at CITE, The Meeting Place, in proud collaboration with TD.

This naming recognizes the ongoing generosity of TD and TD Insurance in support of Seneca student financial aid and initiatives, such as Career Recharge and the Green Citizen Symposium. Over the past 15 years, TD and TD Insurance have contributed nearly $4.5 million to Seneca, as well as providing employment to thousands of graduates.

The Meeting Place also reflects Indigenous tradition of having dedicated space at the centre of the community for individuals to engage. CITE’s third floor is an ideal location for creating, socializing and collaborating, thanks to its versatility.

During the naming announcement, Seneca President David Agnew expressed his appreciation for TD’s long-standing support of Seneca through their TD Ready Commitment initiative.

TD continues to provide critical funding to institutions like Seneca because of its commitment to contribute in positive ways to a more sustainable and inclusive tomorrow.

For the first time, there will be beautiful recognition sign in our halls that is not Seneca red,  but TD green, and the colour fits.

At the recognition ceremomy, TD was represented by Uma Venkataramaiah, Senior Manager, Philanthropy, Sustainability and Corporate Citizenship, who spoke about the TD Ready Commitment program. Chris Dudley, Director, Entrepreneurship hosted the ceremony, which was also attended by participants of HELIX’s Career Recharge program, who shared their stories of having been supported by TD funding.
