King Township Women of Influence Giving Circle About

Giving Circles have been growing in popularity with donors over the last several years. Generally, they consist of like-minded individuals who are brought together to donate to a pooled fund and work as a community to decide where to direct the collected funds.

Seneca’s first Giving Circle will focus on the King Campus and the program areas offered there, including: Child & Community Care, Animal Health, Health & Wellness & Public Safety. These programs are educating our caring professionals who will provide services to our most vulnerable populations.

Why a Giving Circle?

Seneca needs influential community champions. We need to share both the successes and the challenges of our students and the important role that Seneca and our graduates play in making our communities stronger, safer and healthier. Giving Circles empower our champions to tell us what issues are important to them and where they want to see their support make a difference. That is why we have started the King Township Women of Influence Giving Circle.

Where & when will Giving Circle meetings take place?

People lead busy lives with many different priorities. Our goal is to engage Circle members in a productive and meaningful way that is respectful of the time and resources they are dedicating to this initiative. Our plan is to hold at least two meetings annually; one spring and one fall, at venues conducive to discussion and social engagement within King Township — perhaps on campus to tour facilities and meet faculty and students, or in the private homes of our members or local restaurants. We want to engage community members so they see firsthand Seneca’s impact on our communities and the economy, locally and nationally. We hope to encourage discussion and feedback from informed partners who raise funds for programs, services or facilities not funded by tuition or government dollars.

Who are we looking for?

We are hoping to invite women who have an affinity to King Township and have an interest in Seneca and the success of our students.

How does it work?

We ask each woman to commit to donating a minimum of $1,000 per year. There are a variety of payment options available and we can discuss a payment plan that works for you. Charitable tax receipts are issued through Seneca’s Advancement office. The group decides how they want their donation to be used, based on the needs identified by Seneca. Once a year, a series of 10 minute presentations are made by faculty or students to convey the need for funding and the outcomes it will provide. This will offer members a greater awareness of specific programs and allow them to gain a better understanding about the impact their contributions will make. The group votes to determine which project receives this years funding.

What are the benefits?

Members will take pride and ownership in accomplishing a common goal, while socializing and spending time with other visionary leaders who are community minded.
