CNC200 - Coronary Care II

Prerequisites:

RN - Current registration with the College of Nurses (CNO) of Ontario. Coronary Care I or Equivalent

This course is designed to build on the student's knowledge of ischemic heart disease and expand their skill of basic rhythm strip and arrhythmia interpretation. The focus is on 12 and 15 lead ECG interpretation and arrhythmia analysis. This knowledge is applied to the various degrees and stages of heart disease and other cardiac abnormalities. The content is delivered using interactive teaching modalities, including practice exercises and case study format. This delivery format enhances the student's ability to transfer their theoretical knowledge to clinical practice. Current literature and medical research are incorporated to assure evidence based practice for students working in or planning to work in a cardiology environment.
