Advanced Architectural Drafting Applications

Recognition of Achievement

More Information

The Advanced Architectural Drafting Application ROA program combines AutoCAD and Revit - the two main computer-drafting applications in the industry - into an advanced ROA. It provides a full scope of both applications in drafting and 3D graphic presentation, along with the design skills needed in the preparation of architectural, engineering, and construction projects.

This program is designed to teach the necessary CAD drafting applications found in the industry, particularly within the architectural/engineering field. It will provide students with an advanced understanding in both the AutoCAD and Revit applications, from introductory- to advanced-level knowledge, as well as architectural drawing, 3D modeling, drafting conventions, and standards.

Courses also may be taken individually for skill enhancement.

Career Opportunities

For more details on related occupations, job market information, and career opportunities, please visit the Government of Canada website.

National Occupational Classification (NOC) - Government of Canada

The  National Occupational Classification (NOC) provides a standardized language for describing the work performed by Canadians in the labor market. It gives statisticians, labor market analysts, career counselors, employers, and individual job seekers a consistent way to collect data as well as describe and understand the nature of work.

Entry Requirements

Students must have:

  • Experience with Windows PC Operating System.

Program Outcomes

The objective of AutoCAD Essentials ROA is to introduce students with a complete overview of the AutoCAD program from introductory to advanced methods in 2D and 3D environments and concepts.

Upon completion of the program, the student will be able to:

  • Use the AutoCAD and Revit programs to draw a variety of complex plans and drawings.
  • Edit and revise drawings.
  • Create dimension and plot drawings.
  • Understand drafting terminology and drafting standards and conventions.
  • Complete a variety of full 2D and 3D plans.
  • Create 3D models with textures and lighting.
  • Render 3D models to photographic quality.

Recognition of Achievement
