Valedictorian Joong Chan (J.C.) Oh

Joong Chan (J.C.) Oh is graduating from the Language Interpreter Training certificate program. He has a bachelor of electronic engineering and a master of electronic engineering and artificial intelligence. He has worked as an engineer as well as in the marketing and insurance industries. In his full-time job as an insurance broker, he found that he was doing informal interpreting on a regular basis in the office. He decided to get formal training and become certified as a language interpreter and chose Seneca to complete his certificate. He is proud of having never missed a class and enjoyed the team spirit that developed among the students in the program. He says that the education he received at Seneca has helped to set him apart from other interpreters. He has now joined the Association of Professional Language Interpreters (APLI) and plans to offer independent services through local interpretation agencies as well as in his full-time career as an insurance broker.
