Overview

Learn to speak, write, and read fluently in Italian. Our Italian courses focus on a range of topics related to verbal and written communication -- including pronunciation, intonation, and reading comprehension -- making it ideal for those who wish to build their proficiency in Italian and refine their conversational skills. Students will also explore Italian culture and have the opportunity to partake in interactive, practical lessons designed to help advance their personal and professional development.

Note: Students may not use Italian as a course credit towards a diploma or certificate if Italian is her/his first language. Seneca College reserves the right to remove students from courses if the student possesses Italian language abilities above the level of enrolment.

LGE111 or language assessment

This course is designed to further develop the students' oral communication and listening skills in the Italian language. The language is taught through the use of integrated, thematic units that stress and reinforce the four skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing at a low intermediate level of fluency. Cultural awareness will be expanded by examining various aspects of Italian life and customs.
