Independent Music Production, Independent Songwriting and Performance

Blair Packham has been writing songs for more than 40 years and has been influenced by the likes of the Beatles, John Prine and Joni Mitchell among others. He’s also taught songwriting at Seneca and at SongStudio, his annual workshop, for more than 15 years.

He got his start working as an audio engineer with everyone from Bryan Adams to R.E.M. In the 1980s, his band the Jitters toured across Canada and the United Kingdom. He then focused on producing other artists and composing music for TV and film. His music has been featured on TV shows such as Dawson’s Creek and Spliced and in films such as Zombie Town.

Mr. Packham’s received a number of honours over the years, including a Golden Reel nomination for the Best Music Score for the film Hollywood North, the Toronto Music Award for the Best New Artist and a Juno nomination for the Most Promising New Artist. He has a bachelor of arts in English from the University of Toronto.
