Conrad Coates

Acting for Camera and Voice

Since 1985, Conrad Coates has acted in theatre, film, TV and radio. Over the years, he has performed in more than 70 stage productions across the continent, including two seasons at The Stratford Shakespeare Festival, and has more than 120 TV and film credits to his name. Selected credits include roles in Tron: Legacy, Defiance and Vulcan Admiral Terral in CBS Star Trek: Discovery. He was also featured in Robert Zemeckis’s latest film, Welcome to Marwen, starring Steve Carell.

Since 1998, Mr. Coates has been an associate drama teacher and director with SuiteLife: Arts For Youth, a not-for-profit educational and performance community outreach organization. For the past 10 years, along with commitments to his continuing success as an actor, he has worked as a professor at Seneca.

Mr. Coates’s directing credits include Lana Lovell’s Elbow Room, Stephanie Herrera’s Am I Pretty Now as well as Soulpepper’s production of The Nina Project, written and performed by Shakura S’Aida. Mr. Coates is a member of the Screen Actors Guild (U.S.), the Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists and the Canadian Actors Equity Association.
