Tom Melissis

Acting for Camera & Voice

Tom Melissis has been a working professional actor since 1985, who studied acting/theatre at both Toronto Metropolitan University and the University of Toronto. He has participated in many professional acting workshops over the years with various theatre and film notables such as Michael Shurtleff, Del Close and Janine Manatis, to name just a few.

His career has taken him all over North America and Europe, one highlight being a member of Second City’s Tour Company during the late ‘80s, which also gave him the privilege of working with some of Canada’s best comedic talents both abroad and on the Main Stage Company in Toronto. This was an opportunity he credits to honing his comedic skills, which he attributes to receiving his two Canadian Comedy Award nominations for Best Actor and Best Ensemble Writing some years later.

Some of his many TV and film credits include being a series regular on the Gemini Award-winning Due South, along with many guest-starring roles on such shows as DaVinci’s Inquest, Flashpoint, Heroes Reborn and recurring roles on several other TV series, one of note being 14 seasons on the internationally acclaimed and award-winning Degrassi: The Next Generation/The Next Class.
