Broadcasting – Television

Christopher Sweeney teaches script writing in Seneca’s Broadcasting – Television program. He has also taught in Seneca’s School of English and Liberal Studies, School of Management and Entrepreneurship and School of Legal, Public & Office Administration. Mr. Sweeney possesses more than 10 years of experience in post-secondary teaching.

He co-created the comedy digital series La Junta, Sherlock@Home (2019) and Women Are from Mars (2016). The comedy TV series, Parental Advisory: Disciplinary Measures (2014), that he wrote was a finalist in the NSI Totally TV program, with a related bravoFACT short film produced. He has written for the true crime docu-dramas If I Should Die (2020) and Fear Thy Neighbour. His comedy scripts have placed highly in many screenwriting competitions (Austin Film Festival, Cinequest, WeScreenplay, ScreenCraft and ScriptapaloozaTV).

As a co-founder of PodSqod, Mr. Sweeney writes, directs and co-produces podcast pilots. He has recently worked as a story editor on a historical suspense TV series, in CMF-funded development.

Outside of screen projects, Mr. Sweeney has authored numerous award-winning graphic novels that are sold internationally. Mr. Sweeney has written the humorous parenting column and blog, Pop Culture. A live comedy series that he co-created, wrote and produced, B.S., ran for two years at The Second City Toronto.
