John holds a PhD in English from the University of Toronto and has been teaching for 30 years in various Canadian universities and colleges. He is also a professional musician in multiple genres and a Juno award winner. At Seneca, John has developed English courses in poetry, critical writing and thinking, and technical communication, as well as several music courses. A writer of poetry, John is attuned to the use of language, rhythm, and rhetoric, which informs his teaching in every discipline.
