For Vanessa, knowing and teaching mathematics has been a lifelong journey of passion and discovery. Beginning her teaching career in high school she found resonance with students as both coach and mentor in various sports and activities. After having completed her master’s degree at York University in mathematics for teachers in 2003, Vanessa joined the Arts and Science – University Transfer program at Seneca teaching the discipline of mathematics. She is interested in how students think and do mathematics, and currently is working on her PhD at OISE in the area of mathematics education.
