About the Opportunity

Seneca Business students can study in Seoul, South Korea in Spring 2020! Along with Seneca faculty, students can spend five weeks at Konkuk University taking one professional course (either Organizational Behaviour or Presentation Skills) and one Korean language/culture course that will count as a lower level Liberal Studies Option or General Education course. The five-week itinerary includes experiences with Korean cooking, taekwondo, a Seoul city tour, a temple stay and so much more!



May 5 to June 10, 2020 (five weeks)



In order to be eligible to participate, students must:

  1. be enrolled full time in a Seneca Business Bachelor of Commerce or Diploma/Advanced Diploma program
  2. have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
  3. have completed at least two semesters by May 2020
  4. be at least 18 years of age by the program departure date
  5. require and not yet have received credit for one of the following program courses:
    1. Organizational Behaviour
    2. Presentation Skills
  6. require a Liberal Studies Option (LSO) or General Education course


Through participation, students will earn a professional credit (either Organizational Behaviour or Presentation Skills) as well as
Liberal Studies Course or General Education Transfer Credit towards their Seneca credential.

  • accommodation in a Konkuk University residence for five weeks
  • two students will share a room, each with their own bed
  • residence is located in the heart of Seoul, and features Konkuk University Station, servicing subway lines 2 and 7, providing a convenient commute around the city


Cost of Opportunity

Approximately $4,700 (see Travel Grant for funding to offset costs).

Travel grant

To help offset the cost of participation, accepted students will receive a $2,200 International Experience Grant from the International Mobility Office.

Next steps

  • students will learn their acceptance status within 10 days of their application submission
  • a $500 non-refundable deposit will be due on Jan. 10, 2020 to confirm participation



  • International students at Seneca who are interested in participating on this opportunity are required to meet with an International Student Adviser on their campus to ensure their program of study and/or study permit will not be impacted by travelling abroad. This must take place as soon as possible in the application process.
  • All accepted students are responsible for ensuring they meet Korea’s entry and exit requirements. Currently, a visa is not required for Canadian citizens holding a valid passport. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the date you expect to leave Korea.
  • If you do not hold a valid Canadian passport, please consult the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea to confirm your visa requirements.
