International development Week
Seneca College will join the rest of Canada by marking the first week of February as International Development Week (IDW). Led by Global Affairs Canada since 1991, IDW is a celebration of Canada’s work in poverty alleviation and international humanitarian assistance. The week will be filled with events and guest speakers who will promote global mindedness and foster discussions with students, faculty and staff on today’s pressing issues and tomorrow’s innovative solutions. IDW will celebrate and highlight Seneca’s international diversity and activities while providing students with the opportunity to meet professionals working in the field of international development.
The goals of the week are to:
- Educate the Seneca community (students and employees) on global issues.
- Encourage the Seneca community to get involved with solutions for global issues.
- Promote sustainability at Seneca.
- Motivate students to get involved with clubs, activities, events and organizations that promote development.
