Program Areas

Dual Credit

Dual Credit courses allow secondary school students to take publicly funded college or apprenticeship courses that count towards both their high school diploma and a postsecondary certificate, diploma, degree or Certificate of Apprenticeship. The courses are free, provide an introduction to the postsecondary experience and allow students to gain exposure to a chosen career path.

Adult Dual Credit

The Adult Program is available to students 21 years of age or older who are completing their high school credentials. Seneca has a partnership with the York Region District School board where students attend from the Dr. Bette Stephenson Centre For Learning and the Toronto District School Board where students attend from the City Adult Learning Centre. Students attending this school can enroll in a college course that will count towards both their Ontario Secondary School Diploma and a postsecondary certificate, diploma, or degree, or a Certificate of Apprenticeship course. Students benefit from the supervision and support of their college instructor, their Dual Credit monitoring teacher and their college student advisor.

School Within a College (SWAC)

These programs are composed of secondary school courses and postsecondary Dual Credit courses delivered entirely at one of Seneca’s campuses. Students attend classes on campus on a full-time basis. The secondary school courses are taught by secondary school teachers, and the postsecondary Dual Credit courses are taught by professors or instructors, within a collaborative learning community on campus.

Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP)

The program integrates eligible students into a school-to-work environment through hands-on practical and theoretical courses. Students complete courses and work towards becoming certified in a skilled trade while completing their high school diploma.
