To qualify for this program, you must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited university. Canadian citizens, international applicants and permanent residents with international education are required to provide an equivalency evaluation provided by an approved organization such as Ontario Comparative Education Services, World Education Services or International Credential Assessment of Canada.
As an applicant, if your degree is from outside Canada or if English is not your first language, you must provide proof of language proficiency. Required scores are below.
If you have completed a TESL Canada Standard I approved program or a TESL Ontario Canadian TESOL approved program, you may be eligible for exemption from TESL 1. Completion of a comparative review is required (fee: $150).
To apply for the exemption, you must submit a completed program application, all required supporting documents, a copy of the certificate, a detailed subject outline, daily breakdown of course hours and detailed information about the practicum component. You may also be required to complete assignments to cover missing curriculum content
