Athabasca University offers degree completion opportunities to Seneca graduates from a variety of programs (see below). Please note: The transfer credit listed is based on program/ course information submitted by Seneca. Applications to Athabasca University are treated individually according to the relevant credential program regulations and are dependent on the year the college program and/or individual courses were completed, the course selection within the diploma and other variables. Seneca Program: Business Administration - Management , Business - Insurance , Business Administration - Financial Planning , Library and Information Technician , Business Administration - Entrepreneurship and Small Business , Business , Police Foundations , Justice Administration Services

Degree: Bachelor of Professional Arts – Governance, Law and Management

Graduates of the above 2-year programs may receive up to 60 credits, while graduates of 3-year diplomas may receive up to 72 transfer credits toward the 120 required for this degree.


Seneca Program: Police Foundations

Degree: Bachelor of Professional Arts in Criminal Justice

Graduates may receive up to 60 credits toward the 120 required for this degree.


Seneca Program: Business - Marketing , Business Administration - Management , Business Administration - Financial Planning , Business - International Business , Accounting and Finance , Business Administration - Entrepreneurship and Small Business , Business Administration - International Business , Accounting and Payroll , Accounting , Business Administration - Human Resources , Business Administration - Accounting & Financial Planning , Business Administration - Marketing , Business Administration - Purchasing and Supply Management

Degree: Bachelor of Management or Bachelor of Commerce (Post Diploma) programs

Graduates of the above 2-year diploma programs may receive 30-45 credits toward either the 90-credit, 3-year or 120-credit, 4-year degree. Graduates of the above 3-year diploma programs may receive up to 66 credits toward the 90-credit, 3-year degree (BMgmt (PD) only) or up to 66 credits toward the 120-credit, 4-year degree (with Major) or up to 75 credits toward the 120-credit, 4-year degrees (without Major).


Seneca Program: Human Resources Management , Marketing Management , Technical Communication

Degree: Bachelor of Professional Arts in Communication Studies

Graduates of the above graduate certificate programs may receive up to 30 credits of the required 120 credits for this degree. Graduates must also possess another 1-year certificate or a 2-year diploma or equivalent to be eligible for admission. Applicants with a related 2-year diploma may receive up to 60 credits and the post-diploma certificate will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis.


Seneca Program: Visual Merchandising Arts , Business Administration - Management , Library and Information Technician , Graphic Design , Journalism , Creative Advertising , Business Administration - Marketing , Business Administration - Human Resources , Justice Administration Services

Degree: Bachelor of Professional Arts in Communication Studies

Graduates of the above 2-year diplomas may receive up to 60 credits while 3-year diploma graduates may receive up to 72 credits, toward this 120-credit degree.


Seneca Program: Office Administration - Health Services , Office Administration - Legal , Office Administration - Executive

Degree: Bachelor of Professional Arts in Communication Studies

Graduates of the above 2-year diploma programs may receive up to 30 credits toward this 120-credit degree. Students are required  to present an additional 30 university-level credits prior to admittance into the BPA-CMNS program.

Seneca Program: Recreation and Leisure Services , Early Childhood Education , Social Service Worker , Police Foundations , Social Service Worker - Immigrants and Refugees , Social Service Worker - Gerontology , Fitness and Health Promotion , Behavioural Sciences

Degree: Bachelor of Professional Arts in Human Services

Graduates may receive up to 60 credits toward the 120 required to complete this 4-year degree


Seneca Program: Law Clerk

Degree: Bachelor of Professional Arts – Communication Studies, Bachelor of Professional Arts – Governance, Law & Management or Bachelor of Professional Arts – Human Services

Graduates of the above 2-year diploma may receive up to 30 credits toward this 120-credit degree. Students are required to present an additional 30 university-level credits prior to admittance into the Bachelor of Professional Arts – Communication Studies, Bachelor of Professional Arts – Governance, Law & Management or Bachelor of Professional Arts – Human Services programs.


Seneca Program: Business , Real Property Administration (Assessment and Appraisal)

Degree: Bachelor of Management (Post Diploma) Program

Graduates may receive up to 45 credits toward the 120 credits required to complete this 4-year degree or 45 credits toward the 90 credits required to complete the 3-year degree. For more information regarding this program, please contact business-support@athabascau.ca. Students of the Real Property Administration (Assessment & Appraisal) program must have completed one of the following from Athabasca University: ACCT 245, ACCT 250 or ACCT 253; as well as ADMN 232; ADMN 233; and ECON 248 or acceptable equivalents to be eligible for admission to the program.


Seneca Program: Business , Real Property Administration (Assessment and Appraisal)

Degree: Bachelor of Commerce

Graduates may receive up to 45 credits toward the 120 credits required to complete this 4-year degree. For more information regarding this program, please contact business-support@ athabascau.ca. Students of the Real Property Administration (Assessment & Appraisal) program must have completed one of the following from Athabasca University: ACCT 245, ACCT 250 or ACCT 253; as well as ADMN 232; ADMN 233; and ECON 248 or acceptable equivalents to be eligible for admission to  the program.


Seneca Program: Chemical Laboratory Technician , Electronics Engineering Technician

Degree: BSc (PD) or BSc (PD) with Majors

Graduates may receive 30 credits towards the BSc (PD) or BSc (PD) with Majors in Applied Mathematics, Computing Information Systems  or Human Science.


Seneca Program: Computer Networking and Technical Support , Computer Systems Technology , Computer Programmer , Computer Engineering Technology , Computer Programming and Analysis , Electronics Engineering Technology , Civil Engineering Technology , Chemical Engineering Technology

Degree: BSc (PD) or BSc (PD) with Majors

Graduates may receive 60 credits towards the BSc (PD) degree or 30 credits towards the BSc (PD) with Majors in Applied Mathematics, Computing Information Systems or Human Science.
